Television is has been steadily becoming more original and complex over the last ten years. Starting with HBO shows like Oz and The Sopranos and extending now to network series like Lost and 24, television has become more of a writer and director’s medium with more channels and less restrictions than ever before. Additionally, the popularity of reality television has brought a whole new genre to the table.
Fifth Column Films has had a few adventures in TVland, most of them in the reality genre. Whether we are shooting an amateur strip show at a nightclub or an interview with a Congressman in his office, our goal is to create original, fun content for people from many different demographics.

WEBSTER HALL TELEVISION | Webster Hall TV follows the characters that populate Friday night at New York City's legendary night club Webster Hall. Every Friday at 3 am we bring together ten crazy club-goers for The Amateur Stripshow, where one contestant wins $500 for wowing the crowd with a sexy striptease. On paper it sounds like fun, but in person it's almost impossible to contain the madness. Webster Hall TV played weekly in New York on MNN for 20 episodes. Episode Running Time: 28 minutes |

AMERICA SPEAKS | In association with independent producer Luigi Richio, Fifth Column Films followed many of the candidates in 2004's race for the Democratic nomination, gaining footage with eventual nominee John Kerry as well as John Edwards, Reverand Sharpton, Wesley Clarke, Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich and many of their operatives. We interviewed scores of people with an interest in American politics and took their questions to the candidates, bringing the concerns of real people to those in power. The next episode, currently in production, will focus on the Democratic National Convention. |
