SHORTS

Short films are an indie mainstay for a reason. For ease of production, cost, schedule questions, often a short film is a much simpler answer than a feature. Some stories don’t take 90 minutes to tell and with internet distribution the five to ten minute film is entering the public consciousness in new ways. A short film can also be useful as a fundraising tool for a feature, whether of the same story extended or of a different piece by the same production team. There is no limit to the number of short film festivals and the networking opportunities that come with them. All it takes is five fun minutes and you’re on your way.

Below are a few shorts by Fifth Column Films and our friends.

Lifechild Chronicles
LIFECHILD CHRONICLES | A short 'teaser' version of the feature script of the same name. Stars R. Ernie Silva of our film Smokers.
The Shower Scene
THE SHOWER SCENE | Join R. Ernie Silva as he takes a shower. Don't worry, he won't show you his pee-pee. Presented by Fifth Column Films.
Who's Calling?
WHO’S CALLING? | A short film by Yaminah McKessey. Fifth Column Films re-cut, did some slight color correction and added new titles.
In My Lifetime
IN MY LIFETIME | This short film about three friends on their lunch break was edited by Fifth Column Films. Written and directed by D. Brad.
Paranoid Ryan
PARANOID RYAN | Paranoid Ryan lets us into the tightly guarded world of Ryan, a drug dealer who is not comfortable with his job or himself. When Axel goes to visit Ryan to pick up a bag of pot, he is badgered, cajoled, searched and suspected for his effort. All communication is written in Ryan's pick-up spot, and the music is so loud not even the most sensitive bug in the world could figure out what the converstation is about, which leaves the customers confused too. Starring Axel Foley as Customer and Ryan Moore of Smokers as Paranoid Ryan, it was the first piece produced by Fifth Column Films and is Mike Hull's directing debut. Running Time: 6 minutes
Soap Scum
SOAP SCUM | A store owner has to watch his merchandise from local kids on the prowl, one ice cream loving thief in particular. When he decides no amount of pointed stares will do the job, the fed up owner takes things into his own hands. Produced in cooperation with New York theater producer On The Leesh. Running Time: 10 minutes (link coming)
